Clear scope. Structured feedback. Full ownership at the end.
Every engagement follows the same five-step framework — tailored to your scope, not to a template. You know what's happening at every stage.
Discovery
The discovery call is a focused 15-minute conversation — not a sales presentation. We ask direct questions about your company, your customers, your current materials, and what's not working. You get a clear read on whether we're the right fit before any money changes hands.
If there's a match, we follow up with a brief discovery questionnaire that gives us the inputs we need to scope your project accurately. No lengthy intake forms, no weeks of back-and-forth. Most proposals are ready within five business days.
Positioning
Before any design work starts, we build the foundation: who you are, who you serve, what makes you different, and what you want prospects to believe after seeing your brand. This is the work that separates companies with clear identities from companies that look generic because they never defined what they actually stand for.
For brand engagements, this includes a competitive review of how your market is positioned visually and in messaging. For website projects, it shapes the page structure, the copy hierarchy, and the conversion strategy. This step is not optional — it's what makes everything downstream consistent.
Build
This is where the work gets made. Design and development happen in structured rounds with defined review points — you're not waiting weeks to see a "big reveal." Each round has a clear focus: first concepts, first revision, refinement. Feedback is collected in writing and addressed systematically.
For websites, development follows design approval — you're reviewing a live browser build, not a static mockup. For print and brand projects, files are provided in review-ready PDF format before anything goes to final production. Nothing goes to final without your sign-off.
Launch
For website projects, launch includes deployment to your hosting environment, DNS configuration, performance checks, and a final QA pass across browsers and devices. For brand and print projects, this means final file delivery in every format you need — organized, labeled, and ready to hand to any vendor or team member.
You receive full ownership at handoff: source files, brand assets, hosting credentials, and platform access. There is no proprietary system you're locked into, no recurring platform fee we control, and no barrier to moving or modifying your work in the future.
Support
Most clients start with a defined project — a website, a brand, a set of sales materials — and then realize that maintaining consistency as the company grows requires ongoing attention. New services get added, new hires need branded templates, new shows need new graphics.
For companies that want a long-term partner rather than a one-time vendor, we offer ongoing retainer arrangements. These cover a defined scope of monthly work — content production, design updates, new collateral, website maintenance — at a predictable monthly investment.
Retainer clients get priority scheduling and a direct point of contact. No ticket queues, no waiting in line behind new project work.
Questions we get asked before kickoff.
Do you work with companies outside Michigan?
Yes. All client work is handled remotely — video calls, shared file systems, and async review. We've worked with companies across the Midwest and beyond. Geography isn't a constraint.
How long does a typical project take?
Brand identity: 4–6 weeks. Website: 6–10 weeks. Print collateral: 2–4 weeks per project. Timeline depends on scope and how quickly you can provide feedback at each round. Delays in feedback extend timelines proportionally.
What if I need something faster?
Rush timelines are available for defined projects — particularly trade show deadlines. Discuss your date early. We build in schedule buffer for print production lead times, so the earlier we know, the more options we have.
What does the discovery call actually cover?
Where your company is now, what you're trying to accomplish, and what's getting in the way. We ask about your customers, your sales process, your current marketing materials, and your biggest near-term goal. We listen more than we talk.
Do you write the copy for websites and materials?
Copywriting is available as an add-on for any project. For clients who provide their own copy, we offer a review and edit pass to ensure messaging clarity and consistency with the brand direction. Most clients opt for some level of copy support.
What happens if I want changes after launch?
You own everything, so you can make changes yourself or hire anyone you want. If you'd like us to handle ongoing updates, we offer maintenance retainers or can scope individual change requests as flat-fee projects.
